So apparently some dude who used to be a cop made some video about how not to get busted for weed, and a lot of people are talking shit on it. His suggestions here don't seem to me to be obviously wrong (with one glaring exception), but nor do they seem to be particularly novel. I strongly suggest that instead of giving this dude your money you instead watch the very good "Busted" which was made by the ACLU and is available on YouTube.
The glaring exception: He suggests that if your dope is well hidden, you let the cops search your car. I can't disagree with this strongly enough. You have 4th Amendment rights. Use them.
Back when i was in criminal court, i saw a lot of people get convicted of marijuana possession. 90% of them fall into one or more of two broad categories: the poor and the stupid. If you're poor, you're much more likely to get arrested for any number of things for any number of reasons, and there ain't all that much you can do about that. But you can be not stupid. Don't put bumper stickers on your car. Don't have flashy rims or big-ass fins. Don't fill it with trash. Don't wear "It's always 4:20 somewhere" t-shirts. Don't leave roaches in your ashtray or rolling papers on your seat. In short, don't look like someone who's got dope in the car. And watch the video.
